We at BioMizing are proud to have contributed, in collaboration with Wicotec-Kirkebjerg, WK-Holmskov and Krüger, to the conversion of the Lynetten treatment plant from surface aeration to bottom aeration.
The conversion has now been completed, resulting in an increase in treatment capacity to 1 million PE and significant energy and CO2 savings.
Energy and CO2 savings
Compared to the reference period of 2022, the aeration of the biological treatment process has reduced energy consumption by approximately 69%. Converted to kWh, this means that Lynetten expects to save 9,500,000 kWh in 2024. Although electricity is gradually becoming greener, a reduction in electricity consumption of 9.5 GWh is equivalent to an annual reduction in BIOFOS’ CO2 emissions of approximately 500 tonnes CO2e.
As part of our work at Lynetten, we have made a video showing the whole process. We hope you can take a few minutes to watch it 😊.
