BM-Penstock
The BM-Penstock is used for shutting off and regulating channels and structures.
The BM-Penstock is available in two types:
- BM-PS-W for wall mounting.
- BM-PS-C for installation in a channel.
BM-Penstock is supplied as standard with the following operating mechanisms:
- Manual operation with a handwheel.
- Automatic operation with an Auma actuator.
- Other operating mechanisms, such as pneumatic, hydraulic or other actuators, are available on request.
The BM-Penstock is constructed as follows:
- Steel frame; stainless steel EN1.4301 or acid-resistant EN1.4404.
- Gate plate; stainless steel EN1.4301 or acid-resistant EN1.4404.
- Seals between the gate plate and frames are supplied as standard in EPDM rubber.
- Slide rails between damper plate and frames, supplied as standard in black Polyethylene PE-HD 1000, which is most resistant to UV exposure.
- Spindle; stainless steel EN1.4301 or acid-resistant EN1.4404.
- Spindle nut; bronze R67/CUSN72NPB-CC493KGC.
- Bolt material; acid-resistant A4.
All stainless steel is fully pickled (dipped) after machining, ensuring the best possible corrosion protection.
The BM-Penstock is available with or without a rising spindle depending on the application and customer requirements; generally, we advise against placing the spindle nut in water, as a rising spindle ensures that the gate plate can always be opened and closed.
