WWTP Damhusåen
The Damhusåen WWTP is one of BIOFOS’s key facilities in the capital region and handles a significant proportion of the wastewater from Greater Copenhagen. To boost capacity and improve energy efficiency, BIOFOS has carried out a major upgrade of the plant’s aeration system.
BioMizing was awarded the exciting task of rebuilding the aeration in the percentage tanks, a task that involved a transition from surface aeration to bottom aeration.
Our delivery included a complete construction of process tanks for modern bottom aeration. Installation of high-efficiency AEROSTRIP® diffusers. Establishment of new air distribution lines and piping. Installation and adjustment of control equipment and completion of bubble tests and commissioning.
BioMizing has supplied and installed 2,704 AEROSTRIP® Q-4.0 diffusers and 8 DN250 EGGER Iris® valves.
The project has resulted in significantly improved oxygen transfer, lower energy consumption and uniform operation across the basins, and is an important part of BIOFOS’ modernisation of their WWTP.
